Woman Biker Rammed by Speeding Car in Gurgaon Recalls Trauma as Two Arrested
A 27-year-old woman biker, who was allegedly chased and rammed by a speeding car while riding her superbike in Gurgaon, stated on Tuesday that she is still coping with the trauma of the incident. The victim, Shivani Chauhan, has recorded her official statement before a judicial magistrate under Section 183 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Following the incident, the police arrested two of the four men who were inside the car at the time of the collision. The arrested individuals have been identified as the driver, Kalyan Bainsala, and his cousin. Efforts to address the case legally are currently underway as the victim seeks accountability for the actions of the occupants.

Recalling the collision, Chauhan stated that there were four individuals inside the vehicle, though she could not see two of them due to the car's tinted glass. According to her account, the men in the car made obscene gestures and mocked her after she fell from her superbike due to the impact of the crash.
Chauhan expressed distress over the behavior of the occupants, noting that none of them attempted to stop the vehicle or check if she was injured. She questioned the mindset of the passengers, pointing out that no one in the car tried to make the driver stop or looked back to see if she was alive after the collision.
Chauhan, who has been pursuing biking as a hobby for nearly a year, mentioned that this was not her first experience with road rage on the Gurgaon route, having previously faced similar issues in Cyber City. She noted that the recent incident could have been far more dangerous and emphasized her decision to cooperate with the authorities to ensure the guilty are punished.
Impact on the Victim and Call for Justice
The physical and emotional toll of the incident remains significant for Chauhan, who reported that her hands and legs are still hurting. She shared that the memory of the crash continues to disrupt her rest at night, leading her to take a temporary break from riding. She expressed ongoing concerns regarding road safety for women, stating she would now hesitate before planning future solo rides.
Chauhan's father, Roshan Chauhan, who is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) trade wing, stated that his daughter was deeply affected by the shock. He revealed that he only learned about the incident through news reports and social media updates, as she had not informed him immediately.
Chauhan is an active AAP volunteer and a member of the party's youth wing. She previously contested the 2022 Delhi municipal elections from the Kalkaji ward on an AAP ticket. She holds a degree in fashion design from the Footwear Design and Development Institute.
