Nani Confirms No Trailer for The Paradise, Rejects Pan-India Label
Tollywood actor Nani has confirmed that his upcoming film, The Paradise, will release without a theatrical trailer. Speaking at a press meet on Friday, the 42-year-old actor explained that the production team made a collective decision to prioritize finishing the film over creating promotional material ahead of its scheduled release on September 24, 2026.
Nani also stated that the team is actively avoiding the "pan-India" label for the project. While the film will be released in multiple languages, the actor emphasized that the Telugu audience remains their primary focus.
Prioritizing Post-Production Over Promotion
During the press event, Nani explained that the decision to skip a final theatrical trailer was made to keep the creative team focused on completing the film. He noted that pulling director Srikanth Odela, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and other crew members away from their post-production duties to assemble a promotional video was not ideal.
"I think there won't be a trailer for Paradise," Nani said. He admitted that he personally wanted to release a trailer but supported the collective choice of the team under the circumstances.
"If you ask whether the trailer or the movie is more important at this point... under unavoidable circumstances – even though I personally don't like it and really want to cut a good trailer – the entire team collectively made a decision. There will be no trailer for Paradise," the actor explained.
A Revolutionary Mother-Son Story
While the posters and teasers for The Paradise have highlighted a dark, violent action drama, Nani revealed that the film is driven by a deep emotional core. Set in 1980s Secunderabad, the narrative follows Jadal, played by Nani, a man from an oppressed community who rises against a system that has denied his people basic rights for generations.
At the center of Jadal's journey is his relationship with his mother, played by Sonali Kulkarni. Nani described the project as "a beautiful mother-son story" and a "revolutionary emotional film," suggesting that the personal bond between the characters is just as significant as the rebellion and action.
Rejecting the Pan-India Tag
Despite releasing in several languages, Nani expressed reluctance to use the term "pan-India" to describe the film, calling it an "over abusive word." He emphasized that the team is focusing on their home market first.
"We don’t want to call it a pan-India film. Along with Telugu, it will release in some other languages. Telugu is definitely our prime target, and I hope audiences in other languages also watch Paradise and enjoy it equally," Nani said.
Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise marks the director's second collaboration with Nani following their previous film, Dasara. The film features Kayadu Lohar as the female lead, alongside Raghav Juyal, who makes his Telugu debut as the antagonist. The cast also includes Mohan Babu and Sampoornesh Babu, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Director Odela has confirmed that the final cut of the film has a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes.
