Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has shared a first look at Priyanka Chopra Jonas in his upcoming film, Varanasi, to mark the actress's 44th birthday. Introducing her character, Mandakini, Rajamouli released two distinct promotional stills that offer the public its first official glimpse into the highly anticipated and closely guarded production.

Sharing the images on social media on July 18, 2026, Rajamouli wrote: "Grace when she smiles. Fire when she doesn't. Mandakini..." The character reveal has generated significant discussion online, highlighting the contrasting elements of the role.

The two released images present different facets of Mandakini, suggesting a character of both elegance and physical strength. Speaking about her experience on the Hey Jonas podcast, Chopra Jonas shared details about the production process under Rajamouli's direction. "I have been working on it for about 14 months now," she said. "SS Rajamouli is known to take that kind of time to make movies. He called me for this movie, and it's this epic adventure around the world and in time... I do so many amazing slow-motion jumps in it, and that’s all I can say."

While specific plot details for Varanasi remain confidential, the film is known to feature Mahesh Babu in the leading role, alongside a pivotal performance by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The project is expected to blend elements of mythology, history, and adventure across a global narrative.
