Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has announced her admission into the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). She will be pursuing the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) for the class of 2026.

Nanda, who is an entrepreneur, activist, and podcaster, shared the milestone on her Instagram account. Posting pictures from the campus alongside her new batchmates, she wrote, "Dreams do come true." Nanda is the daughter of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, and she has previously graduated from Fordham University in the United States with a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Technology and UX Design.

Details of the IIM Ahmedabad BPGP Course

The Blended Post Graduate Programme at IIM Ahmedabad is a two-year online MBA course designed specifically for working professionals and entrepreneurs. The curriculum is delivered through a combination of live online classes and on-campus modules. The total course fee for this programme is Rs 20,00,000.

To qualify for the BPGP, applicants must be at least 24 years old and possess a minimum of three years of working experience. Additionally, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent professional qualification, such as Chartered Accountancy (CA), Company Secretary (CS), or Cost and Works Accountancy (ICWA).

The selection process for the programme requires candidates to take the online IIMA Admission Test (IAT). Alternatively, applicants can submit a valid Common Admission Test (CAT) score, or a GMAT/GRE score obtained within the last five years. The final stage of the screening process involves a personal interview.

Family and Public Reactions

Nanda’s announcement drew numerous congratulatory messages from family members, friends, and public figures. Her mother, Shweta Bachchan, and brother, Abhishek Bachchan, reacted to the post, alongside family friends and industry personalities including Karishma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Zoa Akhtar, Sikandar Kher, and politician Priyanka Chaturvedi. Her close friends Ananya Pandey, Suhana Khan, and Shanaya Kapoor also shared their congratulations.

The news also generated significant discussion among social media users. While many congratulated her on the academic achievement, some raised questions regarding her admission credentials, with several users asking about her CAT score.

One social media user commented that her decision "set a new goal for the film’s fraternity," while another remarked, "Chalo kuch toh normal dikha!" Another user commented, "I wouldn’t be studying this much if my family were associated with Amitabh Bachchan."

Nanda has previously indicated her preference for business over acting. Coming from a business-oriented family on her father's side, she noted in an earlier interview that she realized by the end of her college education that business was the path she wanted to pursue.
