Actor Bhumi Pednekar has sparked an online debate after sharing photographs and a video of her recent temple visit during the holy month of Sawan. While many social media users appreciated her devotion, others criticized her choice of attire, specifically her decision to wear sunglasses during the religious rituals.

On Thursday, the actor posted the visuals on her official Instagram account. The shared media showed her dressed in a black top and blue jeans, wearing black sunglasses while performing jal abhishek, a ritual of pouring water over the Shivling. Alongside the post, she wrote, "As Sawan begins, I pray not for an easier life, but for the strength to walk it with grace. Har Har Mahadev."

Social Media Users React to Temple Attire

The Instagram post quickly drew a mixed response from the public. While some followers praised her for visiting the temple and offering prayers during Sawan, a significant number of users questioned her decision to keep her sunglasses on during the worship.

Several commentators expressed their disapproval directly on her post. One user asked, "Could you not have taken off your sunglasses before offering prayers?" Another critic remarked, "This looks more like a photo shoot than worshipping Mahadev. Please do not post such things."

Other reactions echoed similar sentiments regarding traditional temple etiquette. One comment read, "I have never seen anyone wearing goggles while doing puja," while another user wrote, "Sister, you could at least have taken off your sunglasses." Additional comments pointed out, "Whatever happens, the sunglasses must stay on," and "At least do not look at God through your sunglasses. Show some respect."

Upcoming Cinematic Projects

Beyond her social media updates, Bhumi Pednekar has recently joined the cast of the upcoming historical drama, The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. She is set to portray Belawadi Mallamma, the warrior queen of Belawadi, in the production.

The film features Rishab Shetty in the lead role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, alongside co-stars Arjun Rampal and Vivek Oberoi. Directed by Sandeep Singh, the historical project is planned for release as a two-part film.
