The Bengaluru police have filed an FIR against several establishments on MG Road for violating rules by operating beyond the stipulated 1 am curfew. Virat Kohli owned One8 Commune is one of the pubs booked by the cops.

According to the police, these pubs were found to be open till 1:30 am, despite the rule allowing them to remain open only till 1 am. The police took action against the cafes and bars after receiving complaints from locals over late night loud music nuisance.

Virat's restaurant is located near the M. Chinnaswamy cricket stadium. The Bengaluru establishment opened in town in December 2023. Virat's One8 Commune chain of restaurants have presence in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi.

As per the State Excise Department of the Karnataka government, business hours rule for establishments within the limits of the Bengaluru City Police Commissionerate is as follows:

All licensed clubs, hotels, boarding houses, and refreshment rooms (bars) can operate between 9 am and 1 am. However, in select areas, like near railway stations, inter-state bus terminals, etc, restaurants are permitted to operate 24/7 even as police will ensure safety.
