Indian athletes have delivered a series of outstanding performances at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, securing multiple podium finishes across boxing, weightlifting, athletics, and para-athletics.

Five Gold Medals in Boxing

India’s boxing contingent achieved remarkable success in Glasgow, clinching five gold medals. The gold-winning campaign was led by Sakshi, Priya, Arundhati, Ankush, and Sachin, who all secured top finishes in their respective categories to boost India's gold medal tally at the Games.

Weightlifters Lead the Medal Charge

The weightlifting arena proved highly productive for India, starting with star lifter Mirabai Chanu. Chanu won the women's 48kg weightlifting title, opening India's gold medal account at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Following Chanu's success, Harjinder Kaur secured a silver medal in the women's 69kg category. India added two more medals to its weightlifting tally as Gyaneshwari claimed a silver medal and Bindiya bagged a bronze medal.

In the men's division, weightlifter Raja Muthupandi secured a silver medal. Reflecting on his performance, Muthupandi expressed that he was "disappointed to miss Gold" despite his podium finish.

Success in Athletics and Para-Athletics

In track and field, India's javelin throwers made a significant impact. Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the men’s javelin event, while his compatriot Yashvir Singh bagged the bronze medal, ensuring a double podium finish for the country.

India also dominated the Men’s para 100m T47 event. Para-athletes Dilip Gavit and Mohd Basil secured the top two medals for the nation, further strengthening India's overall standing at the Glasgow Games.
