Hanuman Ansh continues to defy all conventional box-office logic. On its 38th day in theatres, the Neem Karoli Baba-inspired film collected a staggering Rs 22.50 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in India, according to final estimates.

The film's Sunday numbers were strong enough to beat the combined India nett collections of newer releases Mirzapur: The Movie and Haiwaan on their respective Sundays.

Box Office Comparison

On Day 38, Hanuman Ansh collected Rs 22.50 crore nett in India across 8,902 shows. In comparison, Mirzapur: The Movie earned Rs 13.25 crore nett on its 10th day from 7,225 shows, while Haiwaan managed Rs 1.85 crore nett on Day 3 across 4,374 shows.

Combined, Mirzapur: The Movie and Haiwaan collected Rs 15.10 crore nett on their respective Sundays. Hanuman Ansh alone made Rs 22.50 crore nett, putting it Rs 7.40 crore ahead of the two films combined.

Here's a comparison of the box office collections of the three films:

  • Hanuman Ansh (Day 38): Rs 22.50 crore nett, Rs 253.55 crore gross, Rs 14.50 crore overseas, Rs 268.05 crore worldwide
  • Mirzapur: The Movie (Day 10): Rs 13.25 crore nett, Rs 220.04 crore gross, Rs 46 crore overseas, Rs 266.04 crore worldwide
  • Haiwaan (Day 3): Rs 1.85 crore nett, Rs 8.80 crore gross, Rs 2.75 crore overseas, Rs 11.55 crore worldwide

Worldwide Gross

The comparison gets even more interesting when the worldwide figures are considered. Mirzapur: The Movie has collected Rs 266.04 crore worldwide by Day 10, while Hanuman Ansh has reached Rs 268.05 crore worldwide on Day 38.

That means the sixth-week release has now edged past the much newer Mirzapur film in worldwide gross. The latter, however, has a significantly stronger overseas contribution, with Rs 46 crore compared with Hanuman Ansh's Rs 14.50 crore.

In India, the gap is reversed. Hanuman Ansh has a total India nett of Rs 214.63 crore, while Mirzapur: The Movie stands at Rs 184.70 crore nett.

Haiwaan's Struggling Start

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's Haiwaan, meanwhile, has had a considerably quieter start. The film's Day 3 India nett stands at Rs 1.85 crore, taking its total India nett to Rs 7.35 crore and India gross to Rs 8.80 crore. Its worldwide gross currently stands at Rs 11.55 crore.

Hanuman Ansh's Day 38 India nett of Rs 22.50 crore is almost double Haiwaan's Rs 11.55 crore worldwide total.

The Neem Karoli Baba Factor

The extraordinary run of Hanuman Ansh has increasingly become a story of audience's word-of-mouth rather than conventional star-driven box-office momentum. The film's devotional connection, particularly its association with Neem Karoli Baba, appears to have helped it sustain audience interest well beyond the point where most films begin to see a steep drop.

Its sixth-week Sunday performance now puts it in an unusual position: a film that has been in theatres for 38 days is not merely surviving against new releases but actively outperforming them.

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is a devotional biographical drama inspired by the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj-Ji, a spiritual leader and devotee of Lord Hanuman. The film traces his journey and explores his faith, teachings, and spiritual experiences.

Shobhinaw Satyaa plays Neem Karoli Baba, while the cast also includes Chandan Anand, Vihan Shedege, Anil Rastogi, Purnima Tiwari, and Gulshan Pandey.
